I've been deep in some threads here and I feel like the Kershaw book has been tossed around before. Some great works that probably are just too short to get the Folio treatment by themselves: Legion by William Peter Blatty (FS did The Exorcist, so why not? I know Suntup is doing Legion (which I'll have in my hands before too long) but I don't think that factors in for FS.) The Dead Zone, Salem's Lot, and The Dark Half might make for decent horror King choices this time around. (PS Publishing is about to publish an edition of DS, but it does not appear to be to my taste).

I found FS' editions of Misery and The Shining hopelessly flat (I don't need blood squirting at me, but some atmosphere is necessary if I'm to spend more than $15 on a book) and Kinsella's flavorless treatments were a big part of that.Ī FS (Kinsella-less) Different Seasons could be great although, not being horror, that doesn't apply to this list. I wouldn't mind another from Stephen King (technically I'm a fan, although he has many things I wouldn't read again), but for me to buy, they must leave Kinsella behind.
